Description

This a new colour for this year, Saltholme. It is a beautiful juicy teal colour which is quite stunning.

The name of the colour teal comes from the blue-green flashes on the heads of teal ducks. Generally in Autumn and Winter many hundreds of these small ducks are to be found on the pools at the RSPB Saltholme wetland reserve on the Tees Estuary. Some will stay all year. The males are described as small ducks with chestnut heads and broad green eye patches but if you look at photographs of teal you will see that it is a blue-green very similar to our Saltholme yarn. We have named this shade after the local reserve where so many of these little ducks spend their winter.

This yarn comes in 100 gm skeins in both 4ply and DK.

Our flock is slaughter free and very high welfare. All our sheep are born to live to grow old.
